Soupstock 2009 = 29th Anniversary of Food Not Bombs Benefit Concert in the McLaren Park, Jerry Garcia Bandshell. McLaren park is a lesser known but amazing gem of a park on the southern edge of San Francisco! our concert venue is nestled amongst 317 acres of trees, hiking trails, woodlands and nature. There will be several excellent local bands; varying in genre from punk-rock to folk music, and possibly a very special guest. There will also be speakers between the bands talking about the Food Justice movements, history of other movements that are a part of anarchist, San Francisco culture. We are hoping to bring people in from all over the region and from different groups to teach each other, learn from each other and co-create some momentum for a world of actual sustainability that is both environmentally conscious and socially equitable. There will be some tables set up for literature from various groups with pertinent interests and ideologies. There will also be spoken word and poetry that speaks the desire to co-create a better future than the one we are inheriting.
